A Royal Navy pilot has safely ejected from his Harrier GR7 aircraft moments before it crashed in a field near the small village of Ashwell in the county of Rutland in England. The crash occurred at about 1350 BST today.

The pilot was taken by air ambulance to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for treatment for spinal injuries.

Local resident Vic Harrison spoke to the BBC about the incident: “I thought he didn’t stand a chance, but I looked up and saw the parachute of the pilot. I really thought he had hit the houses. It was a narrow miss – it must have been just 400 yards from our house. It has been an exceptionally lucky escape.”

The plane, from the nearby RAF Cottesmore airbase, was on a training mission and is said not to have been carrying any weapons.

Common Peculiarities of Homulus Saphienus Audiophilius Humane

It’s a kind of hopeless creature that survives in our world for more then fifty years.

Made of one sex only. Due to female kinds are not available, it can not grow by doing sex. He keeps up their generation by splitting like amoebas.

He has a special method to keep up his generation. He finds an ignorant disciple and becomes a good advisor to him. He then sells all his crap equipments to him. If he is fair enough, good equipments may be purchased with good prices. If not, a very pleasant trading event occurs and all the second hand crap was sold by twice of the market price.

These transactions are called as driving actions or beating actions around the society of Homulus saphienus audiophilius humane

When the ignorant disciple becomes educated in time, he realises the nature of driver actions. He froze the relationship with his hero and tries to find out a disciple for himself. So, their population keeps up growing.

Due to the fact above, very unpleasant Homulus saphienus audiophilius humane criticizes his former disciple in every platform even with his grand mother by the claim that “he does wrong things and buys wrong equipments.”

Some sort of intelligent trading guys discovered such peculiarities of Homulus saphienus audiophilius humane, make above mentioned driver and beating actions professionally with a good pleasure.

An interconnect cable which cost was 10 $ is purchased by 200$ in the Homulus saphienus audiophilius human’s world but nobody likes it. The producer wraps, 1$ worth of shielding around, nylon and other enlarging stuff to enlarge, very necessary wooden box is added and the same cable is sold to 2.000 $. This cable becomes the reference cable of all Homulus saphienus audiophilius humane

He is determined. He’s never happy with his equipment buys but keeps up buying.

He does not like at all if the equipment is thin, small and light. He adds some sort of feet or platform underneath to look bigger, puts some marble or brick on top to make it heavy.

He buys the biggest loudspeaker available. He even prefers smallest listening rooms, so the speakers look bigger.

He purchases the most powerful amplifier but listens at the least volume. He calls this headroom. He does not care spending 100 times more money to non used watts rather then actual consumed power.

He is pious. He believes in two holly books called Stereophilus and Soundus Absolitus. He 100% recognizes the validity of the articles and never accepts any critics about them.

He purchases equipment by coincidence with a good price. Than surfs on internet for days to validate his purchase and to collect evidence that “it was one of the best equipments in the world”. Then he tries to persuade others that “he had made investigation for a long in advance and decided to purchase it particularly”.

Some of their kinds do not like taking risk. These kinds do not trust in their ears, hence purchase the same brands that most of the others use. If he is faced by any critics, samples the others as reference.

He collects thousands of CDs but only listens at a few of his references. Rest of the CD’s are just to show off.

Homulus saphienus audiophilius humane sometimes listen at music. But this is generally due to selecting them for the audiophile meeting coming on weekend in his house. He picks up the best records in advance, mark them very intelligently throughout other CD’s. Once the listening session comes, he goes to his CD rack picks up one by change and demonstrates his system to others. The message is clear “his system is capable of playing any ordinary selected CDs perfectly”.

He is lofty. Although he was communicated by email five times to participate Hi-Fi Club meeting on next Wednesday, he does not attend if not called personally by phone.

He is introvert. He does not like to be together with others so long. He likes to be called always and he likes to be out of reach. He establishes one of the biggest Hi-Fi clubs in the world in Istanbul, achieves to 160 members but twenty-five of them may came together in a formal meeting at maximum.

Homulus saphienus audiophilius humane does not attend to live acoustic concerts. He is proud of his brother who performs percussion. He believes that he is keen on natural sounds due to his brother. If he sometimes goes to a concert by a free invitation ticket, it is most probably not an acoustic concert. He tries to achieve the same crap sound at home.

Pure Homulus saphienus audiophilius humane tries to achieve the most natural sound but he doesn’t know what the natural sound is. He listens at live acoustic piano from few centimetres but finds the sound dull. He insists that the real piano should have been more detailed and open. If he finds a big concert piano by change in somewhere, he puts his head inside of the body and EUREKA, this is the piano sound he was looking for.

He purchases an equipment to 3.000 $, adds an electric wire costs 3.000 $, adds a platform underneath costs 2.000 $, changes the tubes by NOS cost 1.000 $ and then listens at.

But he is still dissatisfied. After a while, replaces the original internal cables of the unit, sockets, plugs, resistors, capacitors, spends another 2.000 $ for that. He sells that equipment to 1.000 $ six months later. That case is repeated for years.

Not to forget here that he spoils couple of equipments due to the fact above and spends considerable amount of money and time to get them fixed.

He knows everything better then others. He reads two magazines, makes few tweaks, and then tells in long sentences as if no one knows what he is talking about. He even adds a couple of body work, hands, arms, fingers to his talking to make it more attractive. When talking in excitement, he does not realise that the others watch him in astonished faces.

He often does not like the sound of another audiphilus’s system. He immediately accuses a particular component in the hi-fi chain in spite he does not know any of the components in the chain. “You will have very good sound if you change your CD player ….”

He immediately accuses the entire system in spite there was a recording error in CD. “Something is wrong with your system; I heard a distortion on that track”

He reads a lot but not to learn or to enjoy. His aim is to show off others how knowledgeable he is. He tries not to forget at least up to the weekend that they will come together with other audiphilus’s.

If his expressions are not well regarded by the other Homulus saphienus audiophilius humane, he does not argue at all. He references such, such web sites … my friend, you should read …. Web site first of all and after should dance with me

When going to other Homulus saphienus audiophilius humane for listening sessions, he takes his reference CD’s with him. He listens at them maximum for two minutes and expresses with a strange looking face that I heard what should I hear, you may turn your system off and we can chat

If he was invited for a listening session, he pretends not concentrating the owner’s system. However, you can make sure that he was comparing the sound with his own system. He does not classify his thoughts if he likes the sound.

If the system sounds good, he rejects other music offered by the owner. He tries to direct the listening session to the chatting session by asking to the person sitting next to him, …. How does your system business going my friend, any equipment changes!

If he does not find the sound similar to his system, he interrupts the listening session, volume is get down and the tweaks, recommendations are blustered away with other Homulus saphienus audiophilius humans in chorus. Sometimes he is such desperate that does not recognize five hours passed like that. He suddenly abandons on call of his wife.

He purchases a new speaker by spending all of his money; he thinks that it was a good purchase. He calls other Homulus saphienus audiophilius humans to show how good they are sounding! At the end of the day, he is such a sad and planning to sell his speaker by half price. These transactions are called giving shit in Homulus saphienus audiophilius human s world. Giving shit is maximised at the car park or in the night by telephone traffic of invitees.

He is consistent. He purchases equipment. After a month looses his enthusiasm unnecessarily, sells it to half price. He runs down the equipment to anybody including his grand mother. After six months, he listens at the same equipment in somewhere else but likes the sound; he purchases it again by saying “his problem was in somewhere else”.

Above mentioned movements occur several times; eventually he makes his final decision that this equipment is not good.

If he decides to sell his equipment, he takes it with him to a friend for his own testing purposes. If the fish is in the hook, he sells the equipment involuntarily due not to upset his best friend

A kind of Homulus saphienus audiophilius humane likes wherever he listens at to and sells his system to it’s half price next day.

Another kind of Homulus saphienus audiophilius humane does not like wherever he listens at to. He makes everything to make the system owner sells his system to its half price on the next day. Such kinds sometimes feel prick of conscience due to their blames that they would go to hell one day and listen walkman in there.

He purchases an interconnect cost 3.000 $, tells to his wife that he paid only 30 $ to it. His wife thinks “giving 30 $ to such a shit is idiocy. He even does not listen to his friend who is in construction business repeatedly says “the cabling of entire building of 15 floors cost less then 3.000 $ to his construction company”

If the has a large audiophile companion, a cable purchase may last for maximum six months. He will receive full recommendations from everybody that “why he shouldn’t use that cable”. Eventually it is for sure that the cable will be sold to half of buying price. Due to that fact, it is a big opportunity to follow up the cable purchases of such kind of Homulus saphienus audiophilius humans. You may purchase a just burned in brand new cable by that occasion to half price.

He goes to someone for listening session but does not like the sound. He goes back home and does not like the sound either. He became furious and starts popping in to hi-end shops quietly. If a couple of Homulus saphienus audiophilius popped in to the shop together, it is for sure that they just came for chatting. But if a single Homulus saphienus audiophilius human popped in before noon time, it is for sure that the opportunity of new beating action is coming.

He likes the back side of components rather the front faces. When he pays you a visit, he immediately looks at the back side of the equipments if the connectors are WBT, Watt Agates etc, etc.

He spends years and eventually makes an excellent system but listens at drum solos, cymbals, garage door noise, spit, etc rather then music.

Recording companies include such silly noises as creaks, squeaks, rain noises, car noises to the background of the records to make the Homulus saphienus audiophilius humans happy. Such CD’s became so popular within that world and all the systems are tested by these records such as Jazz at the Pawn Shop.

Another kind spends fortune to combine a perfect system but purchases piracy copied CD’s in order not to pay 15 $ to a CD.

Homulus saphienus audiophilius man is very hopeless creature. Measures should be taken by the authorities to keep up their generation. This letter should be recognised as a warning letter to the authorities.

A Pembroke Pines, Florida teenager killed himself Wednesday, November 19, while broadcasting on the live video site Justin.tv. After making suicide threats and being encouraged by Justin.tv viewers and Bodybuilding.com forum members, Abraham K. Biggs, 19, committed suicide by taking an overdose of opiates and benzodiazepine, which had been prescribed for his bipolar disorder.

Biggs first began blogging about his planned suicide 12 hours before the actual event. He died after taking pills and lying on the bed in front of the webcam. After the broadcast, viewers who apparently thought it was a hoax posted messages such as “OMG”, “LOL”, and “hahahah”.

Hours later, after being alerted by viewers who had noticed that Biggs had stopped breathing, law enforcement and paramedics arrived, discovered his body, and covered the camera. The Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office has reportedly confirmed Biggs’ death.

According to Montana Miller of the Bowling Green State University, the circumstances of this case were not shocking: “If it’s not recorded or documented, then it doesn’t even seem worthwhile. For today’s generation it might seem, ‘What’s the point of doing it if everyone isn’t going to see it?'”

Biggs’ sister Rosalind was angry that neither the website nor its viewers reacted soon enough to save him. “They got hits, they got viewers, nothing happened for hours,” she said. She described him as “very happy” and “friendly and outgoing.” “On a normal day, you couldn’t really tell that he got as low as he did.” However, he did have relationship problems with his girlfriend, according to a friend.

Mental health professionals have warned about the possibility that other mentally troubled people would copy his actions. According to Dr. David Shaffer of Columbia University, “Any video showing it as heroic or romantic or glamorous could reduce the anxiety people might feel about suicide. It becomes a respectable behavior and lowers the threshold of suicide.” He and other psychiatrists recommend that potentially suicidal teens talk to others and “tell what’s going on.”

St. Petersburg, Florida police were taped on video handcuffing a five-year-old kindergarten student who had earlier torn papers off a bulletin board and punched an assistant principal. The camera happened to be filming on March 14 as part of a classroom self-improvement exercise at Fairmount Park Elementary. Video of the event has been released by a lawyer for the child’s mother.

The little girl had already calmed down from her tantrum by the time of arrival of the police, but they cuffed her anyway. Police had been called when a phone call to mother Inga Akins, had led teachers to believe that it would take an hour for Ms Akins to arrive and take the girl away.

The video reportedly shows three officers pin the passive girl’s arms behind her back and put on handcuffs, as she screams, “No!”

Attorney for the mother, John Trevena, called the incident “incomprehensible”. He provided the tape to the media this week, after obtaining it from police.

“The image itself will be seared into people’s minds when you have three police officers bending a child over a table and forcibly handcuffing her,” said Mr Trevena.

Police planned to investigate the incident and make public the findings in around two weeks.

Why would I need to hire a skip?

Many of the home improvement projects covered in these Guides, especially Building, Decorating and Gardening, can produce waste. If it’s a small amount you can take care of it yourself, but what if it’s too much for your household rubbish bin? Then you’ll need to call a Skip Hire Company to take it away for you. Here’s what you need to know before you call.

What size skip do I need?

It depends on how much rubbish you need to throw away, of course.’More is more’ is a good rule of thumb: You’ll save time and money hiring a skip that is slightlytoo large, rather than hiring one that is too small and then having to call the company for a second skip. More importantly, overloadingskips isillegal(see ‘Safety First!’ section). Skips come in several sizes and price ranges:

Mini Skip.Good forgarden and/or householdwaste.

 • Capacity: 1-2 cubic yards (0.76 – 1.5 cubic metres). About 25-35 black bags.
 • Height: 2′ 6″ (0.76m).
 • Length: 5′ (1.52m).
 • Width: 4′ (1.22m).
 • Price: About 65, depending on the company and your location.

Midi Skip.Good forlarger garden, household and commercialwaste.

 • Capacity: 3-4 cubic yards (2.5 – 3.5 cubic metres). About 35-45 black bags.
 • Height: 3′ 2″ (0.97m).
 • Length: 6′ (1.83m).
 • Width: 4′ 3″ (1.29m).
 • Price: About 90, depending on the company and your location.

Builders Skip.Good for largerconstruction/home improvementwaste.

 • Capacity: 6-8 cubic yards (4.6 – 6.1 cubic metres). About 65-85 black bags.
 • Height: 4′ (1.22m).
 • Length: 12′ (3.66m).
 • Width: 5′ 6″ (1.68m).
 • Price: About 120, depending on the company and your location.

These are the sizes you are most likely to need. Your skip hire company should be able to provide larger sizes and even covered skips, should you need them.

Skip HirePermits

Putting your skip on the road.Depending on where you live, you might be required to apply to your local council for a permitbeforeyou put a skip on the road. However, some councils will require theskip hire companyitself to apply for the permit, which will save you the trouble. If that’s your case, make sure the hire company has acurrentpermit, as most permits are only good for abouttwo weeks. Look in ourFurther Readingsection for the direct.gov webpage, where you can find out how to apply.

Putting your skip on your own driveway. You don’t need to worry about any of the above if your skip can be put on a driveway or any private land. However, make sure you actually own the land: You might not own the grass verge in front of your house!

There’s no room here for my skip!In large cities such as London there’s usually not enough road space on which to put your skip. Not a problem, as local skip hire companieswill know this and have several options to offer you, such as skip-bags or other rubbish clearance schemes. They might also offer to wait while you load.

Australian researchers say they have scientifically proven that stress causes sickness. The Garvan Institute in Sydney has discovered that a hormone, known as neuropeptide Y (NPY) is released into the body during times of stress. Their findings show the hormone can stop the immune system from functioning properly.

“Neuropeptide Y is one of those hormones that gets unregulated or released from neurones when stressful situations occur…it’s known for example that it regulates blood pressure and heart rates so your heart rate goes up but it hasn’t been known that it actually can affect immune cells as well,” said Professor Herbert Herzog, one of the researchers.

Herzog feels it is good to finally have proof of something people have suspected for so long.

“Now we have proven without doubt that there is a direct link and that stress can weaken the immune system and that makes you more vulnerable when you for example have a cold or flu and even in the more serious situations such as cancer can be enhanced in these situations,” said Herzog.

The Garvan Institute study centres on two key events that enable the human body to recognise foreign substances and control invaders. When our body encounters a pathogen (bacteria and viruses), the immune cells retain and interrogate suspects. Their activation is made possible by NPY. These cells then return to the lymph nodes, which are found all over the body, with information about the foreign invaders. The lymph nodes are where decisions about defence are made.

“Most of us expect to come down with a cold or other illness when we are under pressure, but until now we have mostly had circumstantial evidence for a link between the brain and the immune system,” said lead Garvan researcher, associate Professor Fabienne Mackay. “During periods of stress, nerves release a lot of NPY and it gets into the bloodstream, where it directly impacts on the cells in the immune system that look out for and destroy pathogens (bacteria and viruses) in the body.”

In the case of bacteria and viruses, TH1 cells are part of the attack team that is sent out on the ‘search and destroy’ mission. But when their job is done they need to be turned ‘off’ and the immune system reset. The same hormone, NPY, that activates the sentry cells now prompts the TH1 cells to slow down and die.

“Under normal conditions, circulating immune cells produce small amounts of NPY, which enables the immune cells on sentry duty and the TH1 immune cells to operate – it’s a yin and yang kind of situation. But too much NPY means that the TH1 attack is prevented despite the foreign invaders being identified – and this is what happens during stress,” added McKay.

The impact of stress on the body has been observed in athletes. Ph. D researcher at the University of Queensland, Luke Spence, together with the Australian Institute of Sport, studied elite and recreational athletes over five months.

They found elite athletes were more susceptible to respiratory diseases under stress.

“A lot of elite athletes put themselves through vast amounts of physical stress in their training, but also their emotional, psychological stress of feeling the pressure of Australia on their shoulders, wanting to compete and wanting to do their best,” said Spence.

It’s not just athletes who are prone to stress. Pressures at work and at home may cause emotional and mental stress that can be equally damaging. Almost a third of all work absenteeism in Australia is due to illness, costing employers over $10 billion a year.

“I think it has a huge impact for the work force and also for employers – if their employees are constantly stressed, constantly under pressure, they are more likely to get sick,” Spence said.

Further research could lead to the development of new drugs which may inhibit the action of the neuropeptide Y hormone.

Herzog warns people to minimise stress before it becomes a problem.

“Relaxation methods like yoga will help you to prevent that but there will still be people out there that are not responding to that and treatment by interfering with the system will be important,” he said. “There’s obviously some time until such a treatment will be available but this is something we will definitely work towards.”

The Garvan research will be published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine, Volume 202, No. 11.

A Scottish woman who set out before Christmas to purchase a turkey finally made it home on Monday, after being cut off by snow for a month. Kay Ure left the Lighthouse Keeper’s cottage on Cape Wrath, at the very northwest tip of Great Britain, in December. She was heading to Inverness on a shopping trip.

However on her return journey heavy snow and ice prevented her husband, John, from travelling the last 11 miles to pick her up. She was forced to wait a month in a friend’s caravan, before the weather improved and the couple could finally be reunited.

They were separated not just for Christmas and New Year, but also for Mr Ure’s 58th birthday. With no fresh supplies, he was reduced to celebrating with a tin of baked beans. He also ran out of coal, and had to feed the couple’s six springer spaniels on emergency army rations.

“It’s the first time we’ve been separated”, said Mr Ure in December. “We’ve been snowed in here for three weeks before, so we are well used to it and it’s quite nice to get a bit of peace and quiet.”

London, England — As Paralympians ready for the Games which are set to open later this week, they have access to a world class fitness center inside the Paralympic Village which is designed to maximise their pre-Game preparations.

According to volunteers staffing the center, instead of being a single large room, as in Beijing, the building has numerous rooms. It, along with the adjacent Village Services Centre, is designed to be converted into a school after the games conclude. Rooms have been structured as a gym, an auditorium, and science laboratories.

Gym equipment is supplied by Technogym, an Italian firm that has supplied gym equipment for the Olympics since 2000. Equipment has been provided not just for for the Fitness Centre, but for gyms at all the Olympic venues. The newest equipment is oriented toward maximum flexibility, allowing athletes to exercise the particular muscles that they most require for their sport.

In addition to the equipment, the Fitness Centre also provides instructors trained in the use of the equipment, the likes of which athletes from many countries have never seen before. There are also a number of instructors available to provide motivational training.

When comparing low cost long-term health insurance, Arizona residents must compare facilities on an apple-to-apple basis. To compare an Assisted living facility to a nursing home, will do nothing but frustrate you and may be the cause of making an uninformed decision. Below well discuss the differences of a few of the long-term care facilities. This is by no means an exhaustive list. Do your research to find out all of the different types of long term care facilities to help you to make an informed decision:

1. Adult Day Care: This type of care provides health-monitoring services such as checking blood pressure, ensuring the patient is getting adequate amounts of food/liquid. They also ensure brain stimulation by engaging the patient in social activities and physical activities. If necessary they will help with personal hygiene performing tasks such as helping with bathing, shampooing, shaving and toileting.

2. Assisted Living: Assisted living facilities provide help for people that require assistance with their daily living activities, but do not require 24 hour 7 day a week help. In essence assisted living is the step in between living at home and moving into a nursing home full time. Depending on the facility, some of the services provided are cooking, bathing, laundry, dressing, housekeeping and medication.

3. Hospice: Hospice provides services to patients who are terminally ill. Hospice provides pain management, medical care, spiritual and emotional support. These services may be provided in the patients home or in a facility. Hospices philosophy is to make the patients final days pain free, lived with dignity and provide the best quality of life as possible.

4. Nursing Home: Nursing Homes are in house facilities that provide both recuperative and non-recuperative long-term care. Although generally considered a place for the elderly, nursing home patients may range in age from young to old. These facilities provide 24-hour care for patients who are unable to care for themselves whether it is a result of aging, illness or physical disability.
